Al-Sanabel Youth and Development Association is a Palestinian-led humanitarian and development organization founded in 2021 and registered in Palestine under registration number QR-0326-F. We operate in the Gaza Strip, providing humanitarian aid, education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and relief services.
For the purposes of data protection, Al-Sanabel Youth and Development Association is the Data Controller, meaning we make decisions about the use and management of your personal data and are accountable for those decisions.

When you make a donation, we use your personal data to process your payment and keep a record of your support. When we use personal data in this way to meet our charitable aims, our lawful basis is legitimate interest.
We record:

- The type and amount of your donation
We use a secure payment processing company to take card payments. This company is compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS).
We will keep in touch with you by email from time to time to share updates about our work, emergency appeals, and how to get involved. You can choose not to receive these emails when you donate, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the emails.
We will not share your contact details with other organizations for their own marketing purposes without your prior consent.
We keep a record of financial transactions for a minimum of 7 years to comply with legal requirements.
If you make a significant donation, we may need to carry out checks on the sources of funds to protect our reputation and meet legal obligations. Our lawful basis for this is legal obligation.
8. How We Use Your Data When You Engage With Us on Social Media
We may process your personal data, including your profile information, content you provide, and your online activity, to reach you and identify other similar people who would be interested in Al-Sanabel's work.
Our social media platforms include Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, and TikTok. Please read the privacy information on each platform. You can adjust your account settings to manage data sharing, privacy, and visibility.
9. How We Use Your Data When You Apply to Work With Us
Job applicants and volunteers are provided with a separate privacy notice at the appropriate point in the recruitment process.
We collect personal information directly from you when you submit a job application. We may also receive information from third parties such as referees, former employers, and providers of background checks.
The information we collect may include:
- Your application and CV
- References from former employers
- Background check information (including criminal records where required by law)
For certain roles involving work with children or vulnerable adults, we may process sensitive personal data to ensure safeguarding. This is necessary for our legitimate interests in protecting those we serve.
If your application is unsuccessful, we will retain your data for up to 6 months after the recruitment process, unless you request deletion. With your consent, we may retain it for longer to consider you for future opportunities.
10. Keeping Your Personal Data Secure
Al-Sanabel implements measures to keep your information secure:
- We have a dedicated team overseeing technical security measures
- Access to personal data is controlled and limited to authorized personnel
- All staff undertake mandatory data protection and information security training

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to make a complaint to the relevant data protection authority in Palestine.
